Xiaomi India President Muralikrishnan B has resigned from his role at the firm, according to a report. The executive joined the company in 2018, and was elevated to the role of president in 2022. He oversaw the growth of the Chinese smartphone maker’s Indian subsidiary over the past few years, despite a brief setback a couple of years ago, when the company faced scrutiny from government agencies over alleged illegal remittances. Xiaomi India is yet to publicly respond to the media reports of the executive’s exit, or announce his successor.

Xiaomi India President Muralikrishnan B Exits Firm

According to a Moneycontrol report citing industry sources, Xiaomi India President Muralikrishnan B has stepped down from his role at the company, for personal reasons. The publication also states that the executive is set to pursue his doctorate at the Indian School of Business, and that he will be on gardening leave for a six-month period once he leaves the firm.

Xiaomi has yet to announce Muralikrishnan’s resignation, or reveal who will succeed the executive. Gadgets 360 has reached out to the company for comment, and this article will be updated when a response is received.

Meanwhile, the report states that Xiaomi’s Alvin Tse will continue in his role as India Head, while Chief Operating Officer Sudhin Mathur (former Managing Director at Motorola, Lenovo) could lead operations in India.
